WPG Incubator · FAQ
Non-nicotine pouches, explained — and sourced.
Straight, cited answers about what these pouches are, how they work, and how to use and store them — drawing on the same regulatory and ingredient-science record maintained for the whole oral pouch category. Product-specific details — exact ingredients and doses — are always printed on each brand's label.
This page describes public research and the regulatory status of ingredients generally — it does not state the compliance or licensing status of any specific WPG product.
Basics
What is a non-nicotine pouch?
A small pouch you tuck under your lip. It delivers functional ingredients through the lining of your mouth — no nicotine, no tobacco, no smoke or vapour. Brands in the WPG Incubator use this pouch format to deliver ingredients like caffeine for energy or focus, the same ingredient found in coffee and tea, just absorbed a different way.
Do these contain nicotine or tobacco?
Right now, yes — every brand in the WPG Incubator today is non-nicotine and tobacco-free. That reflects the three live brands, not a permanent limit on what the Incubator can take on next.
How is this different from a regular energy drink?
No liquid, no sugar crash, and nothing to carry. The pouch sits under your lip and releases its ingredients gradually. Each brand lists its exact contents and dose on the label — always the definitive source for that product.
Absorption
How do the ingredients get into my system?
The lining of your mouth absorbs them gradually while the pouch sits in place — a route called buccal absorption. For caffeine specifically, buccal studies show onset within 5 to 10 minutes, faster than swallowing a pill, with roughly {{nehlig-2010-caffeine-buccal.evidence_citations.key_finding}}. Total absorption ends up comparable to swallowing — the format changes how fast you feel it, not how much gets in.
How long does a pouch last?
Most people keep a pouch in for roughly 15 to 30 minutes. Follow the specific guidance on the brand’s label — that is the definitive source for that product.
Do I chew or swallow it?
Neither. You park it under your lip and let it work. Do not chew or swallow the pouch.
Ingredients & safety
What is actually in them?
It depends on the brand, and the full ingredient list and exact dose are always printed on the product’s label. Across the WPG portfolio, the core functional ingredients are caffeine, L-theanine, and Alpha-GPC (a choline compound). Caffeine is Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS) in the US under 21 CFR 182.1180 and is an approved Natural Health Product ingredient in Canada under Health Canada’s Caffeine Monograph (M108). Alpha-GPC is marketed in the US under the FDA’s New Dietary Ingredient notification pathway, with no FDA objection letters on file for standard oral use. Last verified: July 6, 2026.
Are they safe for everyone?
These products are intended for healthy adults. They are not for anyone under 18, or for people who are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you have a medical condition or take medication, check with a healthcare professional first — we do not make health claims. The FDA continues to actively monitor caffeine safety across all product categories (FDA consumer update on caffeine safety); always read the label for the specific product you are using. Last verified: July 6, 2026.
How much caffeine is in one, and how much is safe per day?
The exact amount per pouch is always on the label — it varies by brand. As a general reference point, Health Canada’s Natural Health Products framework sets an adult daily caffeine ceiling of 400mg across all sources combined (Caffeine Monograph M108), and the same 400mg/day figure is echoed by the FDA and the EU’s food safety authority, EFSA (EFSA Scientific Opinion on Caffeine, 2015). That figure covers coffee, tea, and everything else you consume that day — not just the pouch. If you are sensitive to caffeine, start with one and see how you feel. Last verified: July 6, 2026.
Is this pouch format legally recognized where I live?
The ingredients — caffeine, L-theanine, Alpha-GPC — are well established and approved in the US, Canada, and the EU in forms like capsules and drinks. The oral pouch as a delivery format is newer, and its regulatory status varies by country: it is an established, authorized category in the US under dietary supplement rules (21 CFR Part 111, GRAS caffeine), while Health Canada and several European food-safety bodies are still actively reviewing the pouch format specifically for caffeine delivery, separate from their long-standing approval of the underlying ingredients. We track this status closely and update this page when a market’s classification changes — always confirm current status with the specific brand for your market. Last verified: July 6, 2026.
Usage & storage
How many can I use in a day?
Follow the label for each brand. Spacing them out is sensible, especially with caffeine-based products. Do not exceed the amount the label recommends.
How should I store them?
Keep them in a cool, dry place, out of direct sunlight and away from heat. Keep them sealed when not in use and out of reach of children and pets.
Do they expire?
Yes. Check the best-before date on the tin or pack.
Orders & shipping
Who do I buy from?
Where do you ship?
Shipping is handled by each brand’s own store, so it depends on the brand you order from. Check the shipping details on that brand’s site. Our shipping page explains how it works across the brands.
Can I return an order?
Returns are handled by the brand you bought from, not by WPG. Go to that brand’s store and follow its return process. Our returns page explains the general approach across the brands.
Do you sell merch?
Some brands sell merch through their own stores. Check the brand you follow.
